Poetry

I've been reading poetry all morning becasue I want to incorporate it into my lessons for my advanced students. I will be focusing on Maya Angelou, and in particular "I know why the caged bird sings" but this caught my eye.

Who'da thunk he wrote poetry, and such good stuff!!

All That is Gold Does Not Glitter

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
